The Dark Knight

This list wouldnt stand ground without mentioning Christopher Nolan's biggest masterpiece till date-The Dark Kniht. There are people who have seen this movie and appreciated it quiet well but I have never met a man who has understood the movie to its fullest. This movie is shot in such a way that most dialogues and scenes have got an inner meaning and to savour it to the fullest, you have to have an open mind and not consider it as an action flick as was the mistake made by many people.
I pride myself in being able to understand and cherish each scene of this movie to its fullest, but I would be overwhemed if someone would be kind enough to show me what I have missed.

Most of you already know the story, so this is about what you might have missed.
Plot: The plot unfolds as "Joker"  psycho criminal mastermind, comes to Gotham and starts wrecking havoc around the city. Batman is the only one to stop him. But this movie is not about Joker vs Batman. It is good vs evil.

The story of dark Knight is not  about a fistfight between batman and Joker, but  the people showing that good is still alive in eeryones heart.
The joker believes that inside every human being there is an animal, masked with our common friendly faces. But no matter who we are, we are capable to become that animal, to even eat each other, if that is what takes for survival. The joker wants to show everyone that inside, everyone is like him. But when the people in either ships doesnt press the button to blow up the other ship, the people of Gotham proves that they are not savages inside. The people defeat the Joker through this display of morals.
Having said that, this movie was more about joker than it was about batman. Batman and Joker are alike. It was once said that if you become a symbol, you become much more than a man- without weakness. Batman was a symbol and so is Joker. In the movie, there is no mention about his past. He is not afraid of pain or danger. He has no lust towards money, wemen or anything The stories he tells about his scars are different at different times which means he is just making it up. Stuff like this makes him something more than a man.
The Joker is what every man ever wanted to be- "Not bound by laws of societies or social boundries". dosent have to answer to anyone. he is the master of his own will.

I remember a scene in which it is written on a truck "Laughter is the best medicine" and an S has been added to the left of L by Joker  which makes it "Slaughter is the best medicine".

Into The Wild

Whenever we hear one of our pals say "Live is a race", we reply back "What a cliche" and carry on . If only we could ask ourselves this question: "When did we stop being who we are?". We didnt start of like this. I like to recollect my old memories of me when I was a kid. The innocence, the stupidity, the ability to take happiness from almost anything. There was a peacefullness in that- a crazy calm. Something we lost on the way.
If only I could go back reclaim our lives from our past and purify our soul. Well that is what this movie can do to you. I watched this movie once and had the most peaceful fealing I had in years.

The movie tells the story of a man, who is repulsed by the lies we live, the masks that we wear in our lives. He decides to spend some time in the wilderness, the way nature intended man to live. Since any trip is easy with money, he donates his money to charity and takes off on a trip to Alaska where he would be spending the winter. The movie is about his journey and adventures on the road and his life in the wilderness of alaska.
I can promise you one thing- If you watch this movie it will change youroutlook to life. You wouldnt see "things", you would see beauty. You wouldnt hear 'sounds', you would hear 'music'.

This movie can purify your soul for you.

District 9

This is one of the best movies of recent times. Its a shame that a movie of this class has gone unnoticed by many even after having the tag of Peter Jackson(Lord of the rings) as the producer.
The best part of this movie other than the storyline is its screenplay. It has been shot witha documentory touch while mainlining the pace and quality of an actual movie.
The movie takes part in Johannesberg(South Africa) where an alien spaceship has arrived and become stranded, hoovering in the air. Humans do the right thing and rescue the aliens from the ship and settle them in slums. Years later the aliens have multiplied and have become a real menace. Our main charecter Wikus from an organization called MNU is asked to evacuvate the aliens from the slum which is inside the city to a camp in the outskirts. However things dont go so smoothly for Wikus as the plot unfolds in ways you cannot imagine. Further explanation will act as spoilers and I wouldnt want to spoil the suspense in this movie.

This is a real must watch.

The Butterfly Effect

This movie got my head swirling for over 3 days.

It starts off on a promising note and gets better every second. It is finally when you find out the Plot that you understand how good this movie is.

NOTE: It has got nothing to do with Chaos Theory.

It is about Evan(Ashon Kutcher) who used to experience "Time Loss" during child hood.
i.e He used to do things for some moments and later remember of having done no such things. Hence to remember things he used to write down happenings of each day in his notebooks. Later when he grew old enough, he ook out one of his notebook and read it for the first time.
That is when he discovered that whenever he read about an event in his past, he had the ability to go into that event in the past and change it, if he wanted to. That is the reason why he used to "loose time".

Perfectly shot, this is one of those movies to DIE FOR.

Fight Club

One of the Best movies ever filmed, FIGHT CLUB has dropped a few spots in IMDB TOP 250 to 22nd spot, but still remains my personal favourite.

It is about the Narrator(Edward Norton) who has not slept for some days and hence has got a small Insomnia problem. He eventually finds a friend Tylor(Bradd Pitt) who together forms a night club. All they do in there is fight each other so that the physical pain, seeps off all other mental pain. Other people begin to join the club and soon they have their army who are ready to do anyting on Tylors orders. He begins to make them commit crimes such as blowing buldings, for fun. Eventually Narrator realizes that there is noone called Tylor, It is the Narrator himself.

I would give it a 10/10
